Steve has spent his entire career at Monahans, joining the firm in 1986 and building more than 40 years’ experience in insolvency and business recovery. As a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, he works closely with accountants, solicitors, banks and other professional advisers to support businesses and individuals through financially challenging situations.

Steve specialises in insolvency and business recovery, helping clients understand their options and move forward with clarity and confidence. His experience, combined with Monahans’ wider expertise, enables him to provide practical solutions tailored to each situation.

Many of Steve’s referrals come from other professionals who trust him to look after their clients with empathy, professionalism and discretion. He is known for building long-standing relationships, responding quickly when difficult situations arise and providing calm, straightforward advice when it’s needed most.

Steve often says that his role is about “helping people sleep at night.” One of the most rewarding parts of his job is supporting people through some of the most difficult periods in their lives, helping them move from uncertainty to a position where they can make informed decisions about the future.

Steve is a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner through the ICAEW.

Outside work, family is at the heart of everything Steve does and he’s proud to have recently become “Pops” for the third time. He enjoys countryside walks with Reggie, his energetic Springer Spaniel, has a love-hate relationship with golf, and is always happy to spend time enjoying good food and great company.
