Simon commenced his career with BDO before building a career that has spanned international accountancy firms, regional practices, and industry. That breadth of experience has given him a strong commercial perspective and an understanding of the challenges businesses face from both sides of the table.

Simon joined Monahans in 2001 and has been the firm’s Managing Partner and CEO since 2015, leading the strategic direction of the business and supporting its continued growth. Working closely with colleagues across the firm, he is focused on developing the business, investing in its people and ensuring clients continue to receive the practical, high-quality advice Monahans is known for.

Simon’s role is now very much centred on leading the firm, although he does sill advise a portfolio of clients, his background in both practice and industry continues to shape his approach. He believes the best decisions are grounded in commercial reality and that successful businesses are built on strong relationships, clear thinking and practical solutions.

Simon is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Away from work, Simon enjoys anything practical, whether that’s renovating property, maintaining cars or tackling his next hands-on project. He likes nothing more than rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in!
