Senior Client Portfolio Manager

Sam joined Monahans in 1997 and has spent almost 30 years with the firm. During that time he has held a variety of roles, including Audit Senior, Head of Contractor Services and Director of Accounting, giving him broad experience across many different types of clients and businesses.

Sam specialises in advising consultants, freelancers and contractor businesses, with particular expertise in IR35 and the off-payroll working rules. He enjoys taking subjects that can seem complicated and explaining them in a way that makes sense, helping clients understand what the rules mean for them and their business.

Clients value Sam’s experience, responsiveness and straightforward style. He believes good advice should be clear, practical and easy to understand, whether he’s answering a quick question or helping a client deal with a more complex issue.

Sam is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Outside work, Sam enjoys playing tennis, getting out for a walk, reading, socialising with friends and the occasional trip to a theme park.
