Senior Audit Manager

Ellie joined Monahans as a graduate ACA trainee in 2017 after graduating with a First Class degree in Accounting from Swansea University. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2020, she spent a short period working in internal audit for a high-net-worth family before returning to Monahans in 2022.

As a Senior Audit Manager, Ellie leads statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, UK subsidiaries of overseas groups and larger corporate organisations across a range of sectors. Alongside her client work, she sits on the Education and Training Committee for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), helping to shape the future development of the accountancy qualification.

Ellie specialises in statutory audit and corporate reporting, believing that a good audit should provide more than compliance. She takes the time to understand how each business operates, helping finance teams gain practical insight as well as meeting their reporting obligations.

One of the aspects Ellie enjoys most is visiting clients on site. Whether she’s walking around a warehouse, observing a production line or seeing a new product launch, she believes understanding how a business works provides valuable context behind the numbers.

Ellie is an ACA and Business & Finance Professional (BFP) with the ICAEW and also holds the ICAEW Sustainability Certificate.

Outside work, Ellie loves travelling and is always planning her next trip. When she’s not exploring somewhere new, she’s usually tackling her latest DIY project or spending time with family and friends.
