Steve began his career in Bristol in 2009 and has built more than 15 years’ experience in audit and assurance. Before joining Monahans in 2026, he spent seven years with BDO in Bristol, progressing to Audit Director. He works with owner-managed businesses and corporate groups, combining technical expertise with practical commercial insight and a strong understanding of the South West business community.

 

Steve specialises in audit and assurance for owner-managed businesses and complex groups. His experience spans manufacturing, construction, professional services, retail and hospitality, wholesale and distribution, and technology. He also provides specialist advice on financial reporting under FRS 102 and IFRS.

Clients value Steve’s collaborative and straightforward approach. He takes the time to understand how each business operates, ensuring the audit process delivers genuine value rather than simply meeting compliance requirements. By combining strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, he helps clients focus on the issues that matter most.

Steve enjoys bringing together people with different skills and perspectives to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Whether supporting day-to-day business challenges or more complex technical matters, he believes the best solutions come from working together. He is also proud to represent Monahans as the lead accountancy partner for the FOUNDERS network in Bristol.

Steve is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).

Outside work, Steve enjoys long walks with his cocker spaniel, Womack, a round of golf whenever he gets the chance, and making the most of Bristol’s food and live music scene. He also loves to travel, with Bali, Cambodia and Spain among his favourite destinations.
