Monahans support blooms as Bath takes top prize in national competition

We’re delighted to share some wonderful news from the local community that Monahans has quietly played a part in supporting.

Over the past few years, we’ve provided sponsorship for Bath in Bloom, a community-led initiative focused on enhancing Bath and the surrounding area through gardening and horticultural projects.

Our involvement began thanks to former partner Mark Snelus, who became engaged with the charity following his retirement and invited us to contribute to their important work.

Bath in Bloom’s activities include:

• Entering the City of Bath into the national Britain in Bloom competition
• Running a local gardening competition open to private, community and business gardens, including a special school category
• Supporting community groups and providing small grants
• Promoting community gardening initiatives through an active network of volunteers and committee members

Their efforts paid off spectacularly last year when Bath was not only named winner of the Small City category but went on to be crowned overall national winner of Britain in Bloom.

To mark this remarkable achievement, The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Michelle O’Doherty, hosted a civic reception at the Mayor’s Parlour in the Guildhall for Bath in Bloom’s trustees and sponsors, including Monahans.

The venue, steeped in history and home to original City Charters, provided a fitting backdrop for a celebration filled with pride and appreciation.

We’re proud to support such a meaningful initiative that brings beauty, community spirit and civic pride to our local area, and we congratulate everyone involved in this outstanding success.
